Chenille à pompons * Pom Pom Caterpillar

Je ne crois pas avoir déjà croisé le papillon, le bombyx étoilé (Orgyia antiqua) mais, cette année, fut ma première rencontre avec sa chenille. Difficile de ne pas la remarquer avec ses pompons.

I don't believe to have already met the butterfly, the vapourer (Orgyia antiqua) but, this year, was my first meeting with its caterpillar. Difficult not to notice it with its pompoms.

 

J'espère un jour rencontrer les adultes. Surtout l'originale femelle qui ne possède pas d'ailes et passe sa courte vie à attendre, accrochée à son cocon, qu'un mâle passe par là.

I hope one day to meet the adults. Especially the original female which doesn't possess wings and spends its short life waiting, hung on its cocoon, that a male goes that way.
